Permiana, a tree-inspired branding

Chinese art collective Permiana has unveiled a new visual identity, embodying its vision of finding roots in nature and growing through art. Permiana supports the growth of art and culture and supports creators who reimagine the relationship between humans and the environment, exploring the intersection of nature and art. This visual identity is built around the value of growth, inspired by the Permiana simplex, a paulownia tree considered a symbol of elegance and creative prosperity in Chinese culture.

The logo is inspired by the Chinese character for tree. The upward and expanding structure symbolizes connection and the spread of creativity, visually expressing the spirit of collaboration and harmony that Permiana pursues. The rounded and organic wordmark, embodying nature and balance, further highlights the brand's identity.

Illustrations, a core element of the visual language, are created based on ink drawings, then digitally enhanced using AI. AI delicately enhances texture and depth, creating a harmonious blend of traditional artistry and technical feasibility. This is a key element reflecting Permiana's philosophy, where art, technology, and nature coexist in dialogue.

Through this visual identity, Permiana creates a space for reflection, regeneration, and collaboration, presenting a vision of how art can serve as a bridge between the living world and human experience.
