On September 16, Hyundai Card launched five alphabet cards that offer discounts based on lifestyle: D for Dining, H for Home, O for Oil, S for Shopping, and T for Travel.
The Alphabet Card continues Hyundai Card's existing strategy of introducing products that reflect different lifestyles, such as W, A, and K, starting with the shopping-specific card Hyundai Card S in 2004. The card's name puts the alphabet in the foreground rather than the company name.
All five cards operate on a charge discount basis, offering a 10% discount for each lifestyle - dining, education, healthcare, gas, shopping, and travel - with a maximum annual limit of $600,000. Discounts are applied without regard to previous month's performance or monthly limits. The annual fee is $15,000 each.
Hyundai Card D offers 10 percent off at restaurants and delivery apps, and H offers 10 percent off at hospitals and education. O is for all gas stations, S is for online malls, supermarkets, and department stores, and T is for 0.7 percent domestic and 2 percent international discounts and full waivers on overseas fees.
The card plate is made of one metal and two plastics, with a half-metal front stainless steel-back plastic construction. It costs $70 to issue. The design uses geometry, colors, and typography inspired by Dutch design.
