Google has applied a new logo and user interface to its AI service 'Gemini'. The new Gemini logo has changed from the existing purple and blue colors to a design that combines Google's signature colors of blue, red, yellow, and green in a gradient.
The star-shaped structure of the logo has been maintained, but the pointed ends have been smoothed out to have more rounded and soft curves. This is a measure to make it clearer and more friendly even on small screens. The new logo has already been applied to the Gemini introduction page, Android home widget, and Gemini Instagram account, but has not yet been applied to iOS and the web app.
Along with the design changes, there have also been changes to the user experience. The model selection interface for Android and web versions has been revamped. The names of each model have been moved below the function description to improve readability, and the purpose of each model has also been clearly distinguished. '2.5 Flash' is introduced as a model that provides quick general help, and '2.5 Pro' is a model specialized for complex reasoning, math, and coding. The 'Personalization' feature, which provides recommendations based on personal data from Google such as search history and Gmail, has also been released in preview form.
Overall, Google is taking a strategy of positioning Gemini as a core service integrated with the Google brand, like Chrome, Search, and the Play Store, rather than a standalone experiment. Gemini’s visual identity is aligned with the existing Google product line.
