Oakley x Meta AI Smart Glasses 'HSTN'

Meta has unveiled a new lineup of AI smart glasses in partnership with Oakley. The new product, the Oakley Meta HSTN, will be available for pre-order starting July 11 for a limited time starting at $499, with the general model to be released later this summer starting at $399.

Oakley Meta HSTN is an AI glass optimized for sports activities, combining Oakley’s unique design with Meta’s advanced technology. The camera, microphone, and open speaker are built into the frame, and can be connected to a smartphone to listen to music, make calls, and have voice conversations with Meta AI. Based on the user’s field of vision, AI can provide real-time information or even translate languages.

Equipped with a 3K ultra-high definition camera, it can record activity videos clearly, and supports IPX4 level water resistance. The battery usage time has increased to up to 8 hours, which is twice that of the existing Ray-Ban Meta Glass, and can be used for up to 48 hours with the charging case.

The design is available in Oakley’s various frame and lens combinations, including prescription lens compatibility. Colors include Warm Gray, Black, Brown Smoke, and Clear, and there are a variety of lens options, including a convertible version. The limited edition model features gold accents and prism lenses and will retail for $499.

This product is the result of a collaboration between Meta and EssilorLuxottica that began in 2021, and with this product, the two companies are expanding the AI glasses market beyond the Ray-Ban brand to Oakley. Meta has sold over 2 million units of Ray-Ban Meta glasses to date, and EssilorLuxottica has set a target of selling 10 million units per year by 2026.

This announcement marks the first product aimed at the “performance AI glasses” market since Ray-Ban, and according to CNBC, Meta is also said to be collaborating with Prada. A release date for that lineup has not yet been announced.

Meanwhile, Alphabet (Google) and Snap are also jumping into the AI smart glasses market. Alphabet has started a $150 million Gemini-based smart glasses development with Warby Parker, and Snap has announced a new AR glasses for 2026.
