Apple has officially sent out invitations to the keynote speech for the 36th WWDC 2025, which will be held from June 9 to 13. The keynote will be held on the first day, the 9th, at 10 a.m. (local time) at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, USA, and an online event for developers around the world will also be held concurrently.
The reason this invitation received attention is because it overlaps with Google I/O 2025, which was held on the same day. IT media analyzed that Apple strategically matched the schedule to show its presence in the developer community and the AI market. Invitations were given in two ways, with some developers and students getting the chance to participate in person at Apple Park, and the rest of the participants being able to watch online for free through the Apple Developer app, website, and YouTube.
The most anticipated topic at WWDC this year is iOS 19. It will herald the biggest visual change since iOS 7, with more rounded and glassy design elements. Icons and menus will be reorganized into a unified form, and the bottom navigation bar will be redesigned into a pill-shaped design. Apple is also expected to unveil updates to iPadOS 19, macOS 16, watchOS 12, tvOS 19, and visionOS 3.
macOS 16 will use new California place names and adopt a similar design language to iOS for visual consistency. watchOS 12 will also include UI changes inspired by visionOS, and while it won’t feature on-device AI due to the Apple Watch’s performance limitations, it will offer some Apple Intelligence features.
