Italian ceramic brand Bosa and Spanish designer Jaime Hayon have presented a new 'Danza Collection' to commemorate 25 years of collaboration. The series has been reinterpreted with new patterns and colorful colors for the 2025 Milan Furniture Fair, blurring the boundaries between furniture and objects and bringing the joy of decoration and sculpture to everyday life.
'Danza' is a ceramic object based on decorative elements and round, friendly shapes. It was born as an object with individuality, like a character at a masquerade ball, beyond simple functional furniture. "Danza captures the essence of a joyful masquerade ball. Each piece is a character expressing its own individuality through color and shape," said Ayon.
The collection includes ceramic stools decorated with star and bird motifs, vases with geometric patterns, playful clocks, candle holders, plates, and other small items. All of the pieces are imbued with Hayon’s signature decorativeness and sense of humor, and function as a lively presence in monotonous spaces.
Hayon's designs challenge commercialism and norms. His philosophy of prioritizing decoration over form and emotion over function is also evident in the Spanish and indigenous traditional patterns that are incorporated throughout the ceramic surfaces. The Jaime Hayon Studio he founded has become a space where he can freely express his artistic sensibility and experimental spirit, and he has steadily expanded his influence through collaborations with global brands such as Cassina, Fritz Hansen, and &Tradition.
