AUREX: Portable LP from Toshiba

Toshiba has unveiled a new portable wireless turntable, the 'AX-RP10(W),' under its sub-brand 'Aurex.' The product is equipped with Bluetooth functionality so it can be directly connected to wireless earphones or speakers, and a wired connection is also possible.

The AX-RP10(W) is designed to play 12-inch LP records, but is smaller and lighter than a typical laptop, so it can be carried around in a shoulder bag. The product comes with a dedicated carrying case with a handle. The exterior is made of scratch-resistant aluminum, and the translucent smoky lid opens to 90 degrees.

This turntable is equipped with a 2000mAh capacity lithium-ion battery, allowing up to 10 hours of continuous playback when connected via Bluetooth. The 'auto stop' function automatically stops the turntable after the user has finished playing the record, preventing unnecessary battery drain or needle wear.

The Bluetooth button is located on the top of the main unit, and the connection status can be visually checked via the LED light. Green means connection is complete, blue means pairing is waiting, and red means disconnection. There is also a dedicated slot on the back of the main unit where you can store the LP jacket, adding a sentimental element where you can enjoy the cover art of the album you are playing.

The turntable supports records at 33 1/3 rpm and 45 rpm and uses MM cartridges. There are no built-in speakers, so you will need to connect a wired audio device or Bluetooth speaker to enjoy the sound.

Currently, this product is manufactured for use in Japan, overseas use is not supported, and after-sales service is limited to Japan. The release date is April 2025, and the price has not yet been disclosed.
