Wanted, a recruitment and career platform, has released the 'Wanted Design System', which is a condensed version of its design system, as open source. Developed in an expanded form based on the design library introduced in 2024, this system is composed of a wide range of core design elements such as color, typography, and grid that have undergone field verification, as well as components that can support multiple platforms.
Wanted hopes that this design system will enable designers and developers to communicate in the same language and collaborate more efficiently. In particular, it includes a foundation area that can be used across iOS, Android, and web environments, as well as light and dark theme management functions, allowing for consistent design implementation across various environments.
In addition, components within the system are designed to respond naturally to both desktop and mobile, and the scope of customization is clearly defined to enable flexible response even in exceptional situations. The background color of the component intuitively indicates availability, and detailed criteria are also provided through the 'Makers' Principle' page.
Wanted supports Pretendard JP and Wanted Sans fonts so that users can directly modify the system to maximize efficiency according to the characteristics of the project, and also provides asset search functions based on Korean and English keywords. Users can apply more smoothly by referring to the basic guide before using the system.
This project was led by planner Seokhee Kim, and the production team including Hyeongjin Gil, Chaeri Oh, Sanghyo Lee, Gyeongmin Park, Seongho Jo, and Jisu Lee participated, and anyone can use it freely through an open source license (CC BY 4.0).
Wanted said, “Open source is the key to making our work environment richer and more productive,” and added, “We hope that more designers and developers will explore infinite possibilities and find great careers through this system.”
