Apple's VisionOS 2.4 update released on the 31st introduced the first Apple Intelligence features to Apple Vision Pro. The key to this update is to significantly improve the user experience by utilizing artificial intelligence in text writing, image creation, and content search.
The writing tool supports sentence correction, summarization, and tone adjustment in mail, notes, and third-party apps, while the image playground lets users create original images based on what they have described. The ‘Zenmoji’ function has been added, allowing users to create their own emojis, and the Messages and Mail apps provide Smart Reply to help users respond quickly. The Photos app introduces natural language search and a ‘Memory Movie Maker’ function, which automatically selects photos and videos based on the scenes described by the user and creates a story.
This update also includes a new spatial content app, ‘Special Gallery’. It offers content on a variety of topics including art, culture, and sports, and includes Red Bull, Porsche, Apple original content, and interviews with famous artists.
The Vision Pro app for iPhone is also available for the first time, making it easier to browse content, install apps, and check device information. Guest mode has also been improved, allowing you to start a session with your iPhone or iPad, select accessible apps, and even share your screen with AirPlay.
Apple Intelligence says that most of the computation is done on-device to protect privacy, and when using the cloud, data is not stored and is only used to process requests. VisionOS 2.4 is available today in several countries, including the United States, Korea, and Japan, and some features are only available in English (United States) settings.
