Google Login: New UI and strange notification method

Google has announced that it will update the visual look and feel of its login page to give it a modern look. All elements are the same and give a similar impression to Material Design applied to other products. It will be applied equally across web and mobile devices. Mobile-optimized vertical cards will appear as horizontal cards on Fold or tablet devices. We predict that it will have a similar impression to the recently visually updated Gmail. It will be rolled out gradually starting February 21, 2024, and is scheduled to be completed by March 4, 2024.

iOS 18 Officially Released: Call Recording Finally Happens

iOS 18 has been officially released. Unlike the previous approach of minimizing design personalization, you can now control a considerable number of areas. Unfortunately, Apple's intelligence features were not actively reflected. It is noticeable that the frequently used flashlight UI has been changed to be more intuitive and beautiful.

You can record calls in the Phone app. During a call, a recording icon will appear in the upper left corner. When you tap the icon, a notification will appear that the call recording will start. The other party will also receive an audio notification that recording has started. Tap the recording icon again or end the call to stop recording. The other party will also be notified when the recording is stopped. The recorded content will be saved to the Notes app. Apple Intelligence will transcribe the call content and even summarize it. This feature is only available on iPhone 15, Pro, and Pro Max. It is not yet known whether it will be supported on lower models.

Canvas: ChatGPT's new feature that surpasses Notion

OpenAI has announced a new interface called Canvas, which is useful for writing text and code.

This is a feature of the experience of co-editing with ChatGPT and a specific document. When ChatGPT detects a scenario that could be helpful, it automatically opens a canvas. You can also open it by writing Use Canvas in the prompt. When the canvas is opened, the editing document appears on the right.

You can use it as if you were writing a blog post. There is a list of shortcuts at the bottom right, and you can edit, adjust the length, trim, add emoji, and adjust the reading level. When writing code, a list of shortcuts that are appropriate for that will appear. You can review code, add logs, add comments, fix bugs, leave comments, and port languages.

Windows Hello: A Modernized Login UI

Microsoft is improving the user authentication UI. It is called Windows Hello, the authentication UI that appears when you log in to the Windows OS with a computer. The newly improved UI is in the form of a passkey using PIN, face, and fingerprint recognition. Although passkeys were supported before, they were still desktop-centric UIs and difficult to use in various environments.

It’s currently in beta testing with Windows Insiders, and once testing is complete, the new Windows Hello UI is expected to be available to all Windows 11 users in the coming months.

The new UI appears not only on the Windows login screen, but also when you sign in to websites or apps. Microsoft has created a password and passkey manager API that allows developers to connect directly to Windows Hello. The new passkey experience supports storing passkeys in third-party apps or syncing them to your Microsoft account.
