Retrospective is an important ritual for me to look back and adjust my future direction.
I always did year-end retrospectives, but I became curious not only about my world but also about other people's worlds. So I made time to share good experiences and read other people's experiences like a book.
It was great to be able to share experiences we would never have known otherwise, sharing our personal successes and setbacks in 2022. Time flies without hesitation with the story of struggling in various environments. (It went way beyond the time I thought!)
It was nice to not just share what happened to me, but to have a deep conversation based on topics that have a great impact on each other. Among the various topics, it seems that we talked a lot about communication and change making.
Collaboration is unavoidable as long as you belong to an organization, but it seems that it is always difficult for designers to communicate within an organization. I was able to share my experience.
In the process, they talked about their frustrating experiences because there seemed to be no possibility of change and their ways to take a step back nonetheless.
It was a valuable experience that made me forget many regrets.
A community was imagined where people could come together to share valuable knowledge and accumulate valuable knowledge rather than wandering alone on the open sea.
It seems that there are many cases where the community disappears or fails to grow due to the operator's lack of motivation to operate.
I came to imagine a growing design compass that does not last only on individual will. In 2023, we will strive to become a design compass that can grow sustainably with more connections and new opportunities.
For this time, Decolabo provided us with a great venue. Decollabo is a designer shared office for professionals and a space for the design community. In the future, there will be more activities besides the Design Compass, so please give us a lot of interest.
Looking back at the last 2022 years I'm going to have time to prepare for the upcoming 2023 years.
We would like to invite people with their own stories to give and receive meaningful influence as much as they give their precious time. There is still something lacking in meeting many people, so I would like to meet offline with a limited number of people.
Every Tuesday morning, a designer with 16 years of experience curated Collect design trends.
