Brisbane 2032 logo featuring a parrot and a torch

This is the Olympic and Paralympic emblem design developed by the Brisbane 2032 Organizing Committee in collaboration with a consortium including VML and Landor. It is based on the cockatoo found in Australia. The design captures the characteristics of the host region by overlapping the Olympic flame and the topography of Queensland onto the bird's head and crest.

According to the explanation provided by the Organizing Committee in the released video, the upward-curving crest of the parrot represents the flames of the Olympics and Paralympics. The overall outline follows the shape of Queensland, and the eyes indicate the location of Brisbane. It is designed so that one can read the map of the host city and the Olympic flame together while looking at the animal's face. It is a method of connecting the region's nature and the symbols of sports into a single form.

Development began with a consortium selected in 2022. At the time, the participants were VMLY&R, Landor & Fitch, Kantar Public, and the Indigenous advisory firm Blackcard. Along with the emblem, the Organizing Committee included visual brand strategy, market research, and brand applications such as signage and videos within the scope of the contract. Subsequently, an official post introduced the process in which Indigenous student interns participated in the brand strategy and emblem development.

The unveiling process proceeded by showing pieces of the logo sequentially across various cities in Queensland. The structure was designed to complete the full form by passing through Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, and the Sunshine Coast. However, the completed emblem was revealed first in a preview of an explanatory video on the official YouTube channel on October 2. The organizing committee officially unveiled the two emblems on social media on the 3rd. The originally announced unveiling event for local residents is scheduled to take place on the 5th at Southbank in Brisbane.
