Samsung Home Up multi-finger gesture update

Samsung has started rolling out a new version of the Home Up app in Korea. This update features official support for multi-finger gestures using two, three, four, and five fingers. Up to 27 actions can be assigned to each multi-finger gesture, significantly increasing the flexibility of gesture-based operations.

In addition, customization options for Home screen components, such as the Edge Panel and Dock backgrounds, icon spacing, and corner radii, have been expanded. Users can fine-tune Home screen layouts and interactions, enhancing the level of personalization. The update description specifies One UI 9 support.

This change is significant in that it can directly alter the home screen and gesture UX for general consumers. Multi-finger gestures can be utilized for various purposes, such as quick task switching, launching apps, and calling up shortcuts, so they are expected to impact daily usability and accessibility. The rollout is currently being applied first in Korea.
