Shinhan Life Care, an affiliate of Shinhan Financial Group, is expanding its senior care business under the premium nursing home brand 'SOLÀCE'. The first facility, 'SOLÀCE Home Misa,' has opened in the Misa district of Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, and is introduced as a nursing facility that provides accommodation and meals, along with comprehensive care services on an ongoing basis that consider the maintenance and improvement of physical activity and cognitive function. Key features presented include a structure centered on single-room accommodations, the application of safety, convenience, and smart care elements, and the development and application of a dedicated font designed for the visually impaired.
It is explained that the brand name was created by combining Shinhan's 'SOL' and the Italian word 'VERACE' (truthful, genuine), and the brand essence is summarized as 'the dignity of persistence.' It is also said to aim for an elegant community where warm daily life resides, extending to the meaning of 'Sole' (sun, light, energy).
The branding was established through the collaboration of multiple experts. Standard Project was responsible for developing the brand essence, core values, and name, while CFC stated that it developed the BI design system in collaboration with Shinhan Life Care and various teams in 2025. The symbol and graphic system applied biophilic design based on images of birds, sprouts, and the sun, and included graphics based on the cycle of seasons, a color design adding a nature-friendly palette to Shinhan Navy, and the development of intuitive pictograms considering the sensibilities of seniors.
In particular, the 'Wonshinhan Solar' typeface was developed by repeatedly experimenting with strokes, letter spacing, and margins, starting from the issue of readability for seniors, and is introduced as having undergone actual readability verification through visual perception research and step-by-step ophthalmic tests by the Institute of Writing Culture, as well as cognitive experiments by a KAIST research team.
