Trends are growing more than four times faster than seven years ago, and many users are embracing and selecting trends in ways that best suit their needs.
The report first highlighted emotional comfort and a sense of belonging. Many users sought comfort in their daily lives by seeking content reminiscent of their childhood, rewatching TV and movies, and consuming traditional foods. This trend has expanded into a tendency to reinterpret the past in the present.
This year's notable sensory trend, "Gimi Gummy," captivated Gen Z and Millennials with beauty products and accessories made with soft, jelly-like materials. Funhouse, a circus-inspired interior design with curved structures and stripes, and "Throwback Kid," a reinterpretation of retro children's fashion, also saw growth. The pen pal trend, signaling the resurgence of handwritten letter culture, and "Cabbage Crush," featuring cabbage as a new main ingredient, also attracted attention.
Identity curation trends also emerged. Afro-bohemian decor, combining traditional fabrics with natural materials, appealed to a wide range of generations.
