Extremely minimal striped new symbol

Fintech company Stripe has unveiled a new logo. Replacing its previous slanted "S" icon, the new logo features a single white diagonal line on a blue square background, a geometric motif derived from the dot above the "i" in Stripe's English logo. Focused on simplicity and scalability, the redesign applies across Stripe's diverse product lines, including its payment solution "Checkout" and its fraud prevention service "Radar."

Stripe had already unveiled its current wordmark in 2016, quietly replacing the dot above the "i" with a slanted square. While this square, at the time, offered a dynamic feel and pattern scalability, it lacked the recognition or historical significance to be used as a standalone logo. It was premature to be used as a brand symbol.

On social media, X has been met with mixed reviews for its bold and minimalist design, but also criticism for its overly simplistic nature. It appears to be a direct reflection of the 2025 design trend, which centers around abstract geometry.
