Make with Notion, Notion's first face-to-face conference

Notion celebrated its first offline conference, Make with Notion, by unveiling a new visual language, design system, and guidelines. The project was led by design studio Order, with collaborations from Design, Bitches, Seen Design, and Notion’s in-house design team.

'Make with Notion' was Notion's first offline event held at Pier 27 in San Francisco, celebrating the company's new product vision and passionate user community. The event showcased how Notion's functionality has expanded, showcasing a suite of products that span the entire workflow, including calendars, documents, forms, notes, and email.

It is a tessellation shape system based on the block shape, which is the symbol of Notion. These blocks are used as infinitely combinable components to create letters and are reborn as various visual elements, including icons, patterns, and even illustrations.

The logo conveys a pleasant impression while maintaining the shape of the letters by inserting a block shape into the existing wordmark. At the same time, it is structured so that various logo versions can be created. The colors are centered on the primary color series that expands the basic color system of the Notion brand, and the font is maintained as the existing brand font of Notion, Inter, to increase brand consistency.

The icon design is also expressed based on block shapes and has established itself as a functional yet expressive visual language. In addition, a block-style alphabet is additionally designed and used as an element to supplement the font when necessary.
