Moncler has collaborated with luxury German camera brand Leica to launch the limited edition 'Leica x Moncler Sofort 2' camera. The camera was created to commemorate the Moncler Grenoble (FW25) fashion show held in Courchevel, France, on March 15. Only 100 units were produced and given away to special guests invited to the event.
This camera is functionally identical to the basic model, the 'Leica Sofort 2', but has a distinctive design. The white body features the Moncler logo on the lower right, and the phrase 'MONCLER GRENOBLE COURCHEVEL 2025' is engraved on the top. These details serve as symbolic elements commemorating the collaboration between the two brands.
The 'Leica Sofort 2' is a hybrid digital camera that can print out the photos taken immediately and also save them digitally. It is equipped with a 1.5-inch CMOS sensor and supports a resolution of 4.9 megapixels. Users can transfer photos from their smartphones and print them through the Leica FOTOS app, and can utilize various shooting functions such as selfie mode, landscape mode, and macro mode. The basic storage space supports up to 45 photos, and photos can be transferred using a micro SD card or Bluetooth. Up to 100 photos can be printed on a full battery, and the charging time is approximately 2 to 3 hours.
This isn’t the first time Moncler and Leica have collaborated: in 2014, they released a limited edition of 1,500 ‘Leica X’ models wrapped in blue, white and red leather.
This limited edition camera is not available for official sale and was only provided to fashion show attendees. General consumers can purchase the basic model 'Leica Sofort 2' without Moncler branding. It is currently available on the official Leica website starting at $399.
