Pepsi recently released a video of its “Undercover Cups” campaign, in which it raided major burger chains across the United States and swapped out customers’ drinks for Pepsi’s products.
Pepsi went to McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's and took away customers' Coke orders and gave them Pepsi instead. These brands are official partners with Coca-Cola. The campaign was released on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok.
Pepsi also introduced a design that changed the logo of the existing fast food brand through this campaign. Wendy's mascot changed the red hair to blue hair, which is Pepsi's representative color, and Burger King's logo was inserted with the phrase "This is Pepsi." BBDO, which was in charge of Pepsi's creative marketing, is emphasizing the message "Pepsi goes well with burgers" through this campaign.
According to Beverage Digest in June of this year, Dr. Pepper has overtaken Pepsi to become the second-largest soft drink brand in the United States. Pepsi is expected to continue its aggressive marketing to regain its lead in the highly competitive market.
