Honda has unveiled its new electric vehicle lineup, the 'Zero Series'. The models introduced this time are the 'Honda 0 Saloon' and 'Honda 0 SUV', which come in sedan and SUV forms. Honda announced that the two vehicles will be released in the North American market in 2026 and will be introduced to the global market later.
The new symbol unveiled together has eliminated the rounded square outline. The H represents two outstretched hands, expressing the possibility of movement and a commitment to truly engaging users.
The 'Zero Series' is the first model to apply Honda's new vehicle operating system, 'ASIMO OS'. ASIMO OS was developed with inspiration from Honda's robot ASIMO, and provides integrated management functions for electronic control devices in the vehicle. This allows for efficient control of the vehicle's autonomous driving, driving assistance systems, and infotainment systems.
Honda’s new electric car supports Level 3 autonomous driving, which allows drivers to perform other tasks while driving in certain conditions. The car’s collision avoidance technology is also designed to compensate for driver errors. ASIMO OS learns from the car’s users and continuously improves its features through over-the-air (OTA) updates.
The exterior is based on an aerodynamic design, and the interior space utilization is maximized. In particular, the 'Honda 0 Saloon' has a low and stylish design like a sports car, but offers a spacious interior space. The 'Honda 0 SUV' emphasizes practicality by including a unique rear loading space structure and a folding table.
Honda is also actively participating in the expansion of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and the Zero series offers smart home charging technology to reduce energy costs and even provide the ability to return electricity to the grid during power shortages.
Honda officials said the Zero series will provide a customized driving experience based on customer-centered design. They explained that they plan to present a new car experience with features that will continue to develop even after the vehicle is purchased.
