Lenovo’s ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable AI PC, unveiled at CES 2025, is gaining attention. It features an innovative design that expands the display vertically with the press of a button to expand the workspace. The base 14-inch screen expands to 16.7 inches, and the resolution is increased to 2000 x 2350.
Lenovo describes this laptop as being suitable for business users who are on the move. The screen takes about 10 seconds to expand, and is suitable for tasks that benefit from a vertical display, such as working with documents or coding. The OLED display is made of flexible materials and complements the user experience with on-screen animations while in operation.
However, the product has some limitations. It is difficult to apply the touchscreen and requires additional software manipulation. It is expensive at $3,499. There are also questions about the durability and long-term practicality of the rollable display.
The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 is scheduled to be released in June 2025. It is considered the first case of applying rollable display technology to a practical notebook product. The actual response from users and performance in the market will be watched closely.
