Naver has launched a new short-form content search tab called ‘Shortcontents’ that utilizes generative AI technology. This is an attempt to provide customized information to users in line with rapidly changing content consumption trends.
Shortcontents is operated based on Naver's super-large language model 'HyperClova X'. It analyzes the latest popular documents from blogs, influencer content, posts, etc., extracts key information by topic, and provides a summary of this. It recommends key content related to the topic searched by the user along with image thumbnails, allowing the user to easily identify trends by topic.
Currently, Short Contents covers 18 topics including sports, broadcasting, beauty, food, and travel, and we plan to further subdivide and expand the categories in the future. Short-form content related to the topic is displayed on the search results screen, and differentiated recommendation results are provided based on individual interests.
A Naver official explained that it is a useful tool that allows users to quickly grasp the latest trends. They said that they are developing advanced personalized recommendation technology so that they can expose different content to each user even on the same topic.
