Pareto Principle

The variables of 20% produce the result of 80%.

This means that large systems will produce 80% results by 20% variables. This is a law that can be found in large-scale systems regardless of fields such as economy, management, design, and quality. This shape was discovered by Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto and became known in 1986 when he published a paper on the phenomenon of Italy's 20% population owning 80% of land.

It can also be found in the working methods of ants. The misunderstanding is that only 20% works and 80% does nothing, but the working ants are not fixed but work in shifts. It is also said that in language, the top 20% characters account for 80% of the number of characters used.

You can also observe in the design that it uses only the 20% that is needed rather than providing everything. It is necessary to define what important elements belong to 20% and determine whether the remaining 80% is really valuable. In the extreme, the reason for including one function on one page would be the same logic. Because our time is limited, it is a widely used concept in the sense of selection and focus.
