Figma announced via its official blog that it has integrated OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 model into Figma Make. This integration is designed to allow AI to directly participate in draft generation within the design tool, including automatic prototype generation, code transformation, and interaction design. Users can quickly obtain more polished UI samples and interaction examples with just simple prompts.
Figma explains that the introduction of GPT-5.6 has improved the quality and speed of draft generation. In particular, improvements to the design-to-code conversion process and the automation of interaction design drafts are likely to reduce the time spent on repetitive tasks. The goal is to help designers quickly visualize initial concepts and rapidly perform iterative verification.
This change is significant in that it can accelerate the adoption of AI into design and product development workflows. By reducing UI/UX creation time and shortening product validation cycles, it is expected to have a direct impact on the decision-making speed of designers and product managers (PMs). Further details and implementation methods can be found on the official Figma blog.
