Google Search Live, released in Korea as well

Google has expanded support for its search feature, 'Search Live,' globally. According to information released on March 26, the feature is available in all languages and regions where AI mode is provided. As a result, users in over 200 countries and regions can now use voice and camera to continue searching and conversation.

Search Live works by allowing users to ask questions and receive answers verbally, instead of typing text into the search bar. Users can access the feature by tapping the Live icon below the search bar in the Google app for Android and iOS. By entering a question by voice, users receive an audio response and can follow up with additional questions. Relevant web links are also provided.

This expansion incorporates Google's new audio and voice model, Gemini 3.1 Flash Live. Google explained that this model supports more natural conversation and was designed with multilingual usage in mind. Users can conduct searches and conversations in their preferred language.

A method utilizing the camera has also been included. If a user shows an object in front of them, Search Live provides an answer based on the scene captured on screen. For example, during furniture installation, users can ask questions while pointing the camera at the parts and installation status. Search incorporates visual information to provide guidance and links to additional web resources for verification.

Integration with Google Lens is also available. If you are already pointing Google Lens at an object, you can start a conversation immediately by pressing the Live option at the bottom of the screen. This is a method where photo search and conversational search are connected as a single flow.

This move demonstrates that Google Search is expanding from a text-based structure to voice and video-based interactions. Instead of typing words to view a list of results, users can now search by showing the scene they are currently viewing and asking questions immediately. Through this, Google is expanding its search function into a real-time, context-responsive tool.
