Italian supercar brand Ferrari has unveiled a one-of-a-kind custom vehicle themed on Korean culture. Unveiled for the first time in Seoul, the 12 Chilindri Tailor Made is a one-off model created in collaboration with Korean artists. This vehicle is considered a symbolic example of the direction of Tailor Made, Ferrari's premier personalization program.
This project, which spanned approximately two years, involved the Ferrari design organization, four contemporary Korean artists, and the American design and culture media outlet Cool Hunting. From the planning stage to production, collaboration took place across Europe, the United States, and Asia, focusing on combining Ferrari engineering with Korean craftsmanship.
The vehicle's exterior is finished in a vibrant color inspired by Goryeo celadon and the reflection of light on water. The hues, which alternate between green and purple, symbolize both the modernity and tradition of the city of Seoul. This color will be available exclusively to select Tailor Made customers in the future.
Traditional Korean craft techniques are directly applied to the interior. The seat patterns and dashboard decorations, crafted with horsehair weaving, are inspired by Joseon Dynasty crafts, while the emblem and interior details, crafted with translucent materials, are a style never before attempted in a Ferrari. The brake calipers and paddle shifters feature a white lacquer-inspired finish.
The bonnet features a graphic visualizing the sound of a naturally aspirated V12 engine. Created based on engine acoustic data, this pattern functions as a device that simultaneously conveys both performance and sensation.
Ferrari describes this model not as a simple limited edition, but as the result of a cultural collaboration. It embodies a long-term vision for the Korean market and a commitment to continuing artistic experimentation through automobiles. The 12 Chilindri Tailor Made remains a symbolic example of how far customization can extend.
