Lenovo unveiled its cross-device AI, Qira, at CES 2026.
Lenovo announced Lenovo Qira and Motorola Qira at CES 2026 in Las Vegas on January 6, 2026. Qira is a personal ambient intelligence designed to seamlessly integrate across multiple devices, including PCs, tablets, smartphones, and wearables. It understands context at the system level, follows what the user is doing, and offers assistance when needed, without requiring a separate app.
Lenovo explained Qira's operating principles around three axes: presence, execution, and perception. It stated that Qira can be invoked naturally through multiple entry points, including the voice command "Hey Qira," a dedicated key, and an always-on display. The idea is to leverage device capabilities and local AI to handle tasks offline and coordinate steps between apps and devices, reducing user effort. It explained that Qira creates a personal knowledge base by tying user-selected interactions, documents, and memories, and maintains contextual continuity through cross-device sensing.
Core user experiences include Next Move, which suggests next actions; Write For Me, which instantly refines documents or messages; and Live Interaction, which supports real-time interaction during screen or camera sharing. Catch Me Up, which summarizes the flow of conversations while you're away, and Pay Attention, which helps with meeting transcription, translation, and summarization. Focused modes like Creator Zone, where you can immerse yourself in visual creation, are also offered.
Privacy protection was designed with a hybrid architecture that prioritizes on-device processing. They mentioned local and cloud integration via Microsoft Windows Foundry and Azure, and introduced on-device text-to-image generation through Stability AI in the PC Creator Zone. They also presented a secure search and inference integration for Notion workspaces, evidence-based answers based on Perplexity, and integrations with Expedia and Vrbo as part of their partner ecosystem.
Qira will initially be available on select Lenovo devices in Q1 2026, with support for Motorola smartphones to follow. Existing Lenovo AI Now users will be able to transition to the new feature via over-the-air updates, Lenovo said.
