OpenAI has expanded its user experience with the introduction of a year-end summary feature. ChatGPT has launched "Your Year with ChatGPT," a year-end usage summary service similar to Spotify Wrapped. This feature summarizes users' ChatGPT usage throughout 2025, using visual content and summary information.
This feature will be available initially in some English-speaking countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. It is available to users on the Free Plus Pro plan, who must enable the chat history and saved memory reference features and have a certain level of usage history. Team Enterprise Education accounts are excluded from this feature.
‘"Your Year with ChatGPT" analyzes users' conversation topics and usage patterns to reveal key interests and conversation themes throughout the year. It also provides basic statistics, such as the most conversations on the day, the total number of conversations, and the number of messages. Furthermore, based on usage patterns, it awards symbolic awards like "Creative Debugger" and archetypes that represent user types.
ChatGPT also generates poetry and pixel-style images based on the user's interests. Its design is designed to stimulate the desire to share by providing personalized visual content representative of 2025. OpenAI explains that this feature is designed to be lightweight, privacy-focused, and user-controlled.
This year-end review is displayed on the app's home screen, but it doesn't run automatically. Users can launch it manually by typing "Show me my year with ChatGPT" on the web and iOS/Android apps. This aligns with the year-end review features on major platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
The industry interprets this update as a strategy to establish ChatGPT beyond a simple tool and establish it as a daily service. OpenAI is expanding its product experience by strengthening user engagement amidst significant changes, including the release of GPT-5 in 2025 and a large-scale infrastructure contract. The year-end settlement feature is seen as a symbolic example of ChatGPT's ingrained presence in individuals' digital lives.
This feature is expected to further strengthen the popularity of the OpenAI and ChatGPT brands. At the same time, it signals that the year-end sharing culture fostered by Spotify Labs is expanding into the AI service sector.
