iOS 18 was released at WWDC24. In addition to the experience being enhanced with Apple Intelligence, there have been major changes to the UI. The home screen, control screen, and lock screen can now be freely modified to suit the user's preference. We've also significantly reduced user action steps across many apps. It's surprising that Apple, which recommends the most optimal defaults, gives freedom like Android does.
You can place apps and widgets wherever you want on the home screen. You can resize the app icon and even remove the app name. You can change the background color of the app icon to a darker color and unify the entire icon in one tone.
The control screen can be freely configured. Control widgets are now more rounded. Tabs are created so you can easily switch between frequently used functions, media, smart home, and connections. You can create new groups by placing various control widgets. You can also set the flashlight and camera buttons at the bottom of the lock screen to different functions.
The Photos app now displays a single grid screen with the tabs disappearing. You can search by topic without having to divide albums, and it automatically collects frequently viewed content.
The Messages app can be decorated in more ways. Tapback has been improved to respond with an emoji when you press and hold a message bubble. You can use formatting such as bold, underline, italics, and strikeout, and even schedule transmission. Messages can also be delivered via satellite when there is no Wi-Fi.
The Safari app has new highlighting and reading tools. You can summarize articles and quickly check their spatial location. You can send and receive money between iPhones with Tab to Cash. I don't think it will be supported in Korea.
