Time Different: The designer's heart beats.

As a designer, you may already be worried that all your work will be lost with an “unknown error.” The 'Spinning Wheel of Death' is now available on our wrists.

The Spinning Beach Ball watch was created in collaboration with The Trio of Time team and Hong Kong designer JK. The Trio of Time is ANICORN Watches' experimental side project, collaborating with local designers around the world to create unique timepieces that capture perspectives on the passage of time.

A spinning beach volleyball is the loading symbol for Apple's Mac line of products. It is also called a pinwheel. The official name is Spinning pinwhee. It is an element that has been used since the NexT computer and is still used as of 2023. Used to indicate that a program is currently in use.

This is a symbol that designers often see when their computer crashes while working on a task that uses a lot of resources. This symbol often appears on the computer and Adobe programs such as Photoshop or Illustrator close with an unknown error. In the days when cloud auto-save wasn't enabled, it was a signifier of a terrible nightmare.

Now, this ‘leisure’ and ‘waiting’ comes to your wrist. A space gray watch features a bright rainbow. Finished with stainless steel hardware on a leather strap. When you shake the watch slightly, the internal bearings move and the beach ball spins around. “Each swirl represents anticipation of what’s to come, encouraging the wearer to look to the future and embrace the present,” The Trio of Time said.

📕 Editor's Notes

It starts at $229 and is available for pre-order only. Delivery will begin in November 2023. If you need peace of mind and body, there are alternatives.

Anicorn makes many unique watches in addition to playful watches. The NASA Collection, including the Redundant Watch, which expresses time with clock hands instead of numbers, and NASA Punk's cosmic Project Artemis, also attracts attention. Series such as Series K452, which expresses Kepler's three laws of orbital motion dynamics, are also attractive.

But by far, I want the spinning wheel of death the most.
