Design technology is changing rapidly.
AI is changing the way design work is done, the structure of teams, and even the roles required of designers. However, no one has yet found the definitive answer to this change.
So, I thought that what is needed right now is not a lecture delivering the right answers, but a place where people struggling in their respective fields can share their attempts and concerns with one another.
Recently, interaction within the design industry has also decreased significantly. There is now a greater need for opportunities to hear how others are using AI, what experiments they are conducting within their teams, and where they are getting stuck.
This meetup is not just a place to listen to someone's success story.
It is a gathering to share our individual efforts, get hints from each other, and plan our next steps.
In this rapidly changing era, we aim to create time to learn and move forward together rather than trying to endure alone.
In the first session, I would like to start by sharing how I am currently using it. Then, attendees will form small groups to share how they are each utilizing AI. After the sharing, each person will write down what they learned and what actions they plan to take in the future. Finally, we will select the most memorable lesson and wrap up.
A design leader who has achieved results at every stage of a startup from start to finish.
From being the first designer at a startup to directing the design of a team of 200, I've created design impact at every stage. My goal is to help people experience the world through design in a richer and more engaging way, and to create a design language that everyone can understand.
My first startup was co-founding Lineable, an IoT-based startup that uses Bluetooth location technology to prevent lost children. Later, I designed products and brands for Our Table, a service that provides special recipes for special occasions. Later, I joined the travel startup My Real Trip as a product designer and led the design team there. I also served as Head of Design at Healing Paper, which provides services for Gangnam Unnies. I currently run the design media company "Design Compass.".
Suitable for designers, planners, and design leaders who are considering how to apply AI to design work.
Both those who are already actively using AI and those who are just beginning to use it in earnest are welcome to participate. The important thing is not learning the right answers, but being ready to share your own attempts and concerns.
Yes. It is not a position where you must know how to use advanced AI to participate.
However, if you contemplate and attempt to apply AI to your work, you can gain much more.
It is a format that combines lectures and participatory workshops.
First, we will share how Design Compass is utilizing AI. Afterwards, participants will divide into small groups to share their individual cases and concerns, and finally, they will summarize what they learned and their next steps.
This is not a class where you learn how to use a specific tool step-by-step.
Instead, this is an opportunity to gain insights into how AI is being used in actual design work, which tasks it was effective for, where limitations were encountered, and what can be experimented with in the future.
It is necessary. It is okay if it is not a success story. It is sufficient to say something like, “I tried writing it this way,” “This part didn’t work well,” or “The team is having these concerns.” This meetup is not a place to show off success, but a place to share each other’s attempts.
You just need to speak within the scope of what can be disclosed.
There is no need to disclose specific project names, client names, or internal data. It is sufficient to share only the type of work, usage methods, and the structure of the considerations.
You can participate.
However, the central theme of the meetup is design work and the application of AI. It can be helpful for those who collaborate with designers or require design judgment while working in product, brand, content, planning, marketing, or other product-related fields.
At the end of the meetup, each person summarizes “what they learned today” and “actions to try next.”.
The goal is not simply to stop at hearing good advice, but to determine small actions that can be immediately tested in my work.
There are no special preparations required.
As on-site conversation and sharing among attendees are important aspects of this event, a recording will not be provided.
