Semia, a Brazilian seed brand that represents the earth

Semia, a seed brand targeting the traditional cultivation market in Brazil, has unveiled its new identity for 2025. Targeting consumers who value quality, provenance, and exclusivity, Semia emphasizes the curation of rare varieties and rigorous selection as core values.

The branding was handled by Gabriel Ribeiro of Gab Studio. The studio explained that the direction they set was to capture the sense of hand-picked selection while also embodying the sophisticated expectations of the high-end agricultural market.

The keywords for the visual strategy are rustic and refined. Earthy textures and a handcrafted feel underpin the design, while clean lines and minimal graphics evoke modern processes and high standards.

The symbol encapsulates the meaning of choice, roots, and soil. The photograph also focuses on seeds and plants instead of people, avoiding the typical grammar of agricultural imagery and enhancing the premium tone through artistic retouching that brings out the details.

The name, derived from the Latin word semen, conveys a message of origin, growth, and careful selection. Semia stated that they aimed to convey both luxury and expertise with a short, clear name.

The language identity was designed with precise and restrained sentences. Rather than exaggeration, it emphasized a density of meaning, speaking to customers who view cultivation as an art, philosophy, and heritage.

The industry interprets this as a sign that premium brand strategies are gaining traction in the seed and cultivation sectors. In a trend where curation experiences and narrative structure are becoming increasingly competitive, in addition to product performance, Semia's case is seen as a benchmark.
