The new ChatGPT image more accurately reflects the user's instructions. When editing an image, it only changes the requested portion, while maintaining consistency in key elements like lighting, composition, and the subject's appearance. This allows for a variety of applications, including photo retouching, costume and hairstyle simulation, and the application of style filters. Its strength lies in maintaining the core mood and identity of the original image even after multiple edits.
In this update, OpenAI also introduced a dedicated image creation space within ChatGPT. Accessible directly from the sidebar, this feature provides preset styles and trend prompts, lowering the barrier to entry for users to create. Text representation capabilities have also been significantly improved. Text readability has been improved, even in images with small text or complex layouts. Markdown documents now display naturally, like newspaper pages, making them more useful for creating informational images.
The API, available under the name GPT Image 1.5, reduces image input/output costs by approximately 20 percent compared to the previous version.
