The Vimeo logo refining project, which took place in New York in 2024, is capturing the attention of the design industry. The project was an opportunity to experiment with TOOYA's proprietary micro-typography analysis system, with the goal of enhancing structural balance while preserving the circular logo's inherent charm and individuality. The Vimeo design team included Dan Brooks, VP Brand and Creative, and Via Castro, Brand and Creative Director.
TOOYA appreciated the original Vimeo logo for its rhythm and familiarity, a quality that defies perfect description. This revamp retained this sentiment while fine-tuning the letterforms to establish a new standard. The studio defined the logo revamp as the final step before developing a custom typeface to take the Vimeo identity to the next level. The micro-typographic approach focused on achieving a balanced form through meticulous adjustments, such as controlling the tension of curves and adjusting stroke thickness variations.
