Building on a 20-year partnership with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, Hyundai Card has opened the world's first MoMA Bookstore in Apgujeong, Seoul. The MoMA Bookstore at Hyundai Card is a one-of-a-kind space that curates more than 1,100 titles, including exhibition catalogs published by MoMA itself and more than 200 books on contemporary art, design, and architecture.
The MoMA Bookstore is an art platform for anyone with an artistic eye. In addition to books handpicked by curators at the Museum of Modern Art, the store also features iconic objects and lifestyle goods from the MoMA Design Store, all of which are expertly curated and rare.
The project was initiated by Hyundai Card Vice Chairman Tae-Young Chung and realized in the form of a bookstore. The two organizations met through MoMA's online design store in 2006 and officially partnered in 2010, and have since collaborated on more than 50 exhibitions, book selections, curatorial exchanges, and discoveries of Korean artists.
In addition to free admission to the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Hyundai Card members can enjoy the same digital artworks in real time as in New York via the MoMA Digital Wall at the company's Yeouido headquarters in Seoul.
The MoMA Bookstore is open from noon to 9pm Tuesday through Saturday, and until 6pm on Sundays and holidays. You can also save 10% when paying with your Hyundai Card and up to 20% when using Mpoints. More information can be found on the Hyundai Card DIVE app and website.
