Samsung Electronics will unveil a new foldable smartphone and next-generation devices at 'Galaxy Unpacked 2025' to be held in Brooklyn, New York, USA on July 9. The event is putting forward innovation in user interface centered on AI as its key message.
Samsung Electronics has been thinking about more powerful performance, clearer cameras, and smarter connection methods, and now it is attempting a change where AI is at the center of user interaction. Samsung explains that smartphones are evolving into daily companions that understand users’ intentions and respond in real time. Accordingly, the new Galaxy devices will be released optimized for AI-centered experiences from the hardware structure design stage.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 are likely to be unveiled at this year’s Unpacked event. Both products are expected to adopt a thinner and lighter design than their predecessors, with some leaks suggesting that the Z Fold 7 will be around 8.9mm thick when folded and around 3.9mm thick when unfolded.
The Z Flip 7 is said to have a larger front cover display and a new red color, while the Z Fold 7 is likely to adopt a hole-punch style selfie camera instead of the existing under-display camera. The Z Fold 7 is also expected to have a 200-megapixel main rear camera, which is the same level as the Galaxy S25 Ultra lineup.
In terms of processor, the Z Fold 7 is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite (Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy) chipset, which is the same specification as the Galaxy S25 series. The Z Flip 7 may also feature the same chipset, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
'Galaxy Unpacked 2025' will be live-streamed worldwide through Samsung Electronics' official website, newsroom, and YouTube channel, and can be viewed starting at 11 p.m. on July 9th, Korean time.
