Notion, a global collaboration tool, has launched a new AI-based email service, Notion Mail. Unlike existing email services that have remained largely unchanged for decades, Notion Mail is an intelligent email system that understands users’ priorities and work flow and operates accordingly. The Korean version is
The biggest feature of Notion Mail is the automatic classification function using artificial intelligence. When the user sets the type of email they consider important, Notion AI learns it, automatically labels it, and sorts it at the top of the inbox. For example, if a startup CEO in the hiring season designates 'recruiting'-related emails as important, those emails will be displayed as top priority.
Users can also organize their inboxes based on their own criteria. Instead of the standard categories of existing email services, they can create custom views tailored to individual situations, such as 'customer feedback' or 'travel schedule', which greatly improves the efficiency of checking emails.
It also comes with a variety of features to increase productivity. Frequently used replies can be saved as 'snippets' and retrieved with a single click, and the '/schedule' command can be used to easily coordinate schedules with the respondent by linking the Notion calendar and schedule. AI suggests drafts of replies based on the content of the received email and automatically corrects spelling and grammar.
In addition, you can quickly navigate your inbox using keyboard shortcuts, and you can still use Notion's block-based editor, so you can write emails naturally in a familiar environment.
Notion said, “Notion Mail started with the hope that email would function as a true work tool for users, not just another task,” and “We will maximize the productivity and engagement of email through AI.”
Notion Mail is currently available on the web and macOS, and is free to use with your Gmail account. An iOS version will be released soon, and a Korean version is scheduled for May.
