The 2024 Paris Olympics poster was unveiled at the Musee d'Orche. Created together with French illustrator Ugo Gatoni. The slogan “Games wide open” uniquely expresses the unity of the entire city through sports. The fact that the unity of humanity can be expressed in such a joyful way through sports makes it a city of art.
This is the first double-sided poster for the Olympics, combining two posters representing the Olympics and Paralympics into one poster. Illustrator Ugo Gatoni spent 2,000 hours over 6 months creating this stunning poster.
Paris is depicted in detail with surreal Art Deco illustrations. You can feel the joyful festival atmosphere just by looking at the dense miniature world. I drew a space that symbolizes Paris, a venue for competitions, new sports, and a huge stadium that gathers key figures.
The Eiffel Tower, the subway, the Seine River, and the Arc de Triomphe, which symbolize Paris, have been transformed into spaces for athletes to play. The four new sports added in 2024 - breaking, sport climbing, skateboarding, and surfing - are also included. The five rings and medals symbolizing the Olympics are depicted in a huge sculpture, and the city is filled with audiences of various races.
Although Paris is a landlocked city, the illustration also includes the coast. This represents the coast of Marseille, where the torch relay begins, and the waves of Tahiti, where sports such as surfing will be held.
The poster will be sold starting March 5th and is priced at 20 euros (about 29,000 won). It will first be sold at the online store, Paris 2024 official store, and Musée d'Orsay, and will later be available at FNAC and supermarkets.
