Standby is an extension that allows you to use your iPhone even when it is not in use. Standby is a function that displays various information when the iPhone is placed horizontally and charging. You can think of it as playing a similar role to a smart home device. It displays the current status of not only the clock but also several apps in context. It is always displayed and the color is displayed differently depending on the surrounding brightness.
📕 Editor's Notes
Apple's restriction strategy still appears to be going strong. It seems that carefully designing an attractive experience and making it available only to people who use Apple services will make it more popular. There will be more changes in the future to further expand the highly sophisticated iPhone experience.
It is predicted that the experience using only smartphones will have limitations, and the combination with new hardware/software will provide a new lifestyle. Wireless earphones have been a huge success, but I think challenges will continue in the smart home and XR/AR areas, which have not yet shown clear usability.
