This is the Soul Chair by avant-garde furniture designer Muddycap. It embodies the moment when the soul leaves the chair in a superimposed form. It consists of a blue opaque chair and a floating transparent chair, and the user can sit on the transparent chair. This expression of the soul is a production that can be often seen in various media.
This chair, which is more of a sculptural experiment, contains a philosophical message beyond its practicality. The two chairs are in exquisite contrast. The opaque, dark blue symbolizes the 'body', while the transparent, light blue symbolizes the 'soul'. In particular, the opaque chair is depicted with its hind legs bent and slumped to express the death of the 'body'. On the other hand, the 'soul' floats above it in perfect balance. Unlike the usual expression of a hazy smoke, it feels like a solid core.
