These features, which were teased at Connect last September, will be rolled out sequentially to mobile, web, and Mac apps starting November 5, beginning in the U.S. You can start a conversation by tapping the phone icon in the top right corner of the screen.

The avatar changes its facial expressions and gestures to match the mood of the conversation as the AI speaks. It also reacts while the user is speaking, demonstrating that it is listening. The design incorporates character movements not only during the moment of response but also during the listening process.

You can also choose how your avatar is displayed on the screen. You can use voice only, display your character next to the existing conversation, or talk face-to-face in full screen. You can choose from hundreds of voices. You can select a New Yorker accent or a pirate-like style and switch it at any time.

Meta introduced use cases for putting thoughts into words. These include refining plans by discussing cities to travel to and accommodations to stay in, or practicing interviews and presentations out loud. Conversations can continue even while walking or cooking, and Muse handles tasks in the background while the user speaks. It is also possible to pause and resume speaking mid-sentence.

This feature utilizes 'Muse Real-time Voice' and 'Muse Real-time Avatar' technologies. It combines the content and information conveyed in speech to generate audio and video, matching voice, lip movements, and facial expressions. Meta plans to provide voice conversation on AI glasses and Muse Charms in the future, although it has not disclosed a specific date.

See more and sources
https://about.fb.com/news/2026/11/introducing-muse-ai-voice-expressive-avatars/
https://research.meta.ai/blog/bringing-your-muse-to-life

Meta has added voice chat and real-time avatars to Muse.
