Canva has launched Affinity, an iPad app that combines sketching, vector design, photo editing, and page layout into one. It was officially announced on November 2, and individual users can access core tools with a free Canva account. The interface has been designed for touch and Apple Pencil.<\/p>\n
Switch menus for 'Sketch', 'Vector', 'Pixel', and 'Layout' are placed at the top of the screen. Tools are located on the left side of the workspace, while layers and detailed settings panels are on the right. It handles photo composition, illustrations, and brand work composed of multiple artboards all within the same app. The structure allows you to continue editing within a single .af file, even if the type of work changes.<\/p>\n
In the newly added 'Sketch Studio,' you can draw ideas with your fingers and Apple Pencil. It offers over 350 editable brushes and responds to pressure, tilt, and barrel rotation of supported Apple Pencils. After sketching, switch to Vector Studio to adjust curves and nodes. We have combined the hand-drawing process with precise shape correction into a single document.<\/p>\n
Pixel Studio supports RAW correction, masks, photo compositing, and non-destructive editing. In Layout Studio, arrange images and text, and organize multiple pages using master pages, common text styles, and automatic text flow features. You can also work across devices using the same files as the desktop version.<\/p>\n
Core editing tools and export features are available for free to individuals. A paid Canva plan is required to use Canva AI Studio. The launch version lacks some desktop features, such as data merging and macro recording, and we plan to continue adding these features in future updates.<\/p>\n
