The Unihertz Titan 2 Elite is a 5G QWERTY physical keyboard smartphone introduced by Unihertz. Unlike recent smartphones that consist solely of a full-screen display, this product adopts a design that places a physical keyboard beneath the small screen. This form factor naturally brings to mind past keyboard phones such as the BlackBerry Bold, Q10, and Curve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The similarity to BlackBerry is most evident in the front layout. The screen is a 4.03-inch AMOLED, and beneath it is a 4-row QWERTY keyboard. The method of typing sentences by pressing keys with your fingers creates a different speed compared to a touchscreen keyboard. It is closer to the user experience of writing sentences directly, such as for emails, notes, and search queries, rather than short messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unihertz did not treat this keyboard as a mere retro element. Short and long press shortcuts can be assigned to each alphabet key. The keyboard surface functions like a touchpad, supporting scrolling, cursor movement, and mouse mode. It is a configuration that maintains the physical input feel of BlackBerry while connecting it to the operation methods of Android smartphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exterior also borrows from the BlackBerry line. The wide, small body, near-square aspect ratio, size that fits in the hand, and the weight at the bottom created by the keyboard give a similar impression. However, the Titan 2 Elite incorporates current smartphone specifications such as Android 16, 5G, a 120Hz AMOLED display, eSIM, and a 50MP dual rear camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of design, this product is less a revival of BlackBerry and more a reinterpretation of the smartphone user experience that disappeared after the BlackBerry era. It is designed to be closer to a tool for writing and executing functions immediately, rather than a device for prolonged use on a large screen.
