The new operating system is based on Android 17. Nothing described a cleaner interface, expanded personalization features, and improvements to everyday functions as the major changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New app icons are applied to the home screen. System colors reflecting the background color are also included. Transparent visual elements are added to the widgets and search area. The system font changes to Geist. New icons and a clean layout are applied to Settings, Camera, Gallery, and the status bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gooey and Micrographics clock faces are added to the lock screen. Glyph features can be managed in one place within the new Glyph App. Glyph Timer can be launched directly from the home screen. Collector is a feature that collects photos like stickers and arranges them on the home screen. Away Time records the time the phone is not in use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Essential AI features are also being expanded. Smart Collections and MCP support are added to Essential Space. Essential Voice supports real-time transcription and transcription of over 100 languages. Users can create Essential Apps directly on their mobile phones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Android 17 features include the separation of notifications and quick settings, QR code-based Quick Share, improved privacy display, enhanced screen recording, Noto 3D emojis, expanded dark themes, independent Assistant volume, and improved HDR brightness.
