British bicycle brand Brompton has revamped its global brand identity. The work was undertaken by London-based Studio Blackburn. Launched to mark Brompton's 50th anniversary, this project focused on integrating brand expressions that varied by country and channel into a single system. The core brand strategy is 'Life Unfolded'.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new visual system originates from the folding and unfolding structure of a Brompton bicycle. While maintaining the existing logo and the symbol representing the bicycle, a graphic system was developed that mimics the frame expanding and folding. The motion is also based on this folding structure. It moves simply in digital interfaces, whereas various elements unfold more actively in campaigns and social content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also created a dedicated typeface, 'Brompton Slab'. Based on the letter forms of the existing wordmark, we expanded it into a writing system usable for the entire alphabet and various languages. The representative color was standardized to 'Brompton Blue'. For icons and graphic elements, we applied forms derived from bicycle parts and mechanical structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The photo system is centered around real cities and riders. It was designed to capture regional living environments while applying consistent graphic and typographic rules. It is a global brand system that connects the product's core structure\u2014the "folding and unfolding motion"\u2014to the logo, typeface, graphics, and motion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
