Hanwha Life has completely renovated the commercial facilities of its headquarters, the 63 Building, and officially began operations on June 4, 2026. This renovation is a project to transform the 63 Building from a financial-focused office space into a global complex cultural space that combines art, culture, gastronomy, and lifestyle.

The 63 Building has long been an architectural symbol of Seoul's growth and the Han River skyline. However, relying solely on the symbolism of a supertall skyscraper has made it difficult to create new visitor experiences. This transformation focused on expanding the building's role beyond the past impression of being merely a "tall structure" to become a place where citizens and tourists can actually stay, spend, and experience culture. Hanwha Life described this renewal as a change that "connects Seoul with the world, daily life with art, and people with space.".

The brand identity has also been revamped. According to Brand B, the new BI for the 63 Building was handled by Studio FNT with Hanwha Life Insurance as the client. The new logo places the number '63' itself at the forefront to intuitively reveal the building's name and memories. Since the name '63 Building' is already a strong urban asset, this approach brings the symbolism of the number to the center of the brand, rather than relying on complex explanations.

A key change in this rebranding is the renewed leverage of the popular name "63 Building" rather than "63 Square." Regardless of the official name change, "63 Building" has long been a familiar name to the public. The new BI does not erase this memory but rather reconnects the recognition built as an urban landmark to serve as the face of a modern multi-cultural complex.

At the heart of this spatial transformation is Centre Pompidou Hanwha. Established through a partnership between the Hanwha Foundation and the Centre Pompidou in France, this art museum operates as a space introducing world-class contemporary art after remodeling an existing annex. The architecture was designed by French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, who created exhibition spaces utilizing natural light and artificial lighting based on the concept of a "Box of Light.".

The commercial facilities have also undergone significant changes. Hanwha Life reviewed over 300 brands and carefully selected 25 to open branches. Gourmet Street features Ramen-ya Shima, Seoryeong, Sanho, Kkapom, and Gohyeon, while the existing 63 Buffet Pavilion is scheduled to reopen after being upgraded to 'The Premium'. The observation deck has been renamed '63 Sky Picnic' and includes media art, an immersive screening room, and a special exhibition hall.

On the ground level, the '63 Oudolf Garden,' designed by landscape designer Piet Oudolf, has also been created. It is a promenade-style garden that connects the vertical image of the 63 Building with the horizontal landscape of the Han River. The interior commercial space was designed to expose colorful steel frames and pipes, inspired by the visual language of the Centre Pompidou.

The rebranding of the 63 Building goes beyond merely repackaging an old landmark. It is a project that binds the memories associated with the number 63, the symbolism of the Han River skyline, the opening of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the curation of gourmet brands, and the experiences of the gardens and observatory into a single place brand. In essence, the building's name remains the same, while the time experienced within it has been transformed.

<img fetchpriority="high"
