The health tracking platform Pulse has completely revamped its brand under the new name Machina. This represents a shift in direction from an early Web3 user-centric tech brand to a broader mass market. Machina has stepped back from the existing conventions of the wearable market, which focus on measuring more data and driving it harder. Instead, it has reinterpreted data as an experimental tool for self-growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The original Pulse possessed high technological prowess and a privacy-centric philosophy. It allowed users to directly own their health data and provided rewards simply for wearing the device. However, its brand identity was weak compared to its technology. This became a bigger problem ahead of the launch of the first hardware product. To survive in the highly competitive wearable market, it was necessary to redesign the entire brand, rather than just relying on visual enhancements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new name, Makina, is an expression that interprets the future where machines and humans meet in a more flexible and friendly way. While evoking the image of a system that reads invisible bodily signals and behavioral patterns, it conveys a warm impression. Makina does not treat data as a standard for evaluating performance. Instead, it proposes it as a starting point where users observe patterns, test behaviors, and build changes at their own pace. Technology establishes itself as a companion, not a monitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visual language also strongly supports this strategy. DEPPT has created an atmosphere distinct from existing healthcare brands by drawing on a retro-futuristic vibe, cyberpunk, and Japanese anime sensibilities. The logo is inspired by anime lettering and electrical symbols, while the hand-drawn wordmark conveys a rugged and distinctive energy. Chrome and metallic textures, along with bold gradients, add a playful touch while maintaining a technical impression. Furthermore, the addition of AI and 3D-based art direction completes a scene that makes users feel as though they are stepping into the brand's world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
