Ahead of its 30th anniversary, Pok\u00e9mon has unveiled over 1,000 new logos all at once. This is being evaluated as an attempt to showcase the scale of the Pok\u00e9dex accumulated since the series began in 1996, in the form of logos. Overseas design media reported that the creation of an individual logo for each Pok\u00e9mon species is symbolic of this reveal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new main logo prominently features the text "Pok\u00e9mon Since 1996" alongside the 30 emblem. However, the true significance lies in the individual logos rather than the main one. The production method utilizes the silhouette of the 30 emblem as a common framework, incorporating variations by capturing the specific forms and expressions of each Pok\u00e9mon within it. Rather than redrawing thousands of species as entirely new images, it amounts to expanding the system by establishing a single rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The release method was also designed to be fan-participatory. It spread by exposing the corresponding Pok\u00e9mon logo when a specific hashtag was posted in the comments of Pok\u00e9mon-related accounts, leading to a competition for discovery. In this process, images collected by fans were organized into a database to rapidly expand the reach of public access, and accessibility was enhanced by systematically archiving the logos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the center of the reaction is Ditto. Overseas media reported that sharing of the Ditto logo exploded due to its simple yet humorous expression. It is cited as an example demonstrating the perfection of a logo system, as it reveals what kind of character comes alive even when the form is minimized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The industry interprets this project as a strategy to revamp brand assets and expand the fandom ahead of its 30th anniversary. Given that it generated engagement and widespread adoption solely through its logo at a time when major announcements such as games and animations are expected, it is being evaluated as Pok\u00e9mon taking its IP management methods to the next level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
