Figma has acquired AI-powered media creation company Weebee and unveiled Figma Weave, a new brand that will usher in a next-generation creative ecosystem. This announcement marks Figma's commitment to a full-scale redesign of its production tools, amidst the design industry's rapid shift toward AI-driven workflows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the core of Weave is node-based creation and editing. This allows users to connect multiple AI models on a single screen, branch or combine various processes, and design the desired outcome. Unlike existing generative AI, which produces results with a single prompt, Weave allows creators to directly orchestrate the creation process and continue experimenting. Figma emphasizes that this will allow AI to become a starting point for creativity, not a finished product. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond image creation, Weave offers video editing features like lighting replacement and texture correction, demonstrating its potential to expand into motion design and VFX.
