Koffee Skates, a brand from Montevideo, Uruguay, is gaining attention for its bold blend of skate and coffee culture. The brand identity, created by designers Berg Kotogian and Juan Manuel Barbe of Another Monday Studio, captures a sense of both everyday life and street style. This skate shop and caf\u00e9 has become a new meeting place in the city, a cultural hub where skaters, artists, and coffee lovers seamlessly mingle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The logo is simple yet striking. A large eye is placed in place of a skateboard wheel, visually linking the awakening of coffee with the focus of skating. This eye, which shifts its gaze depending on the situation, symbolizes the fluidity and improvisation of street culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visual language is centered around duct tape, a symbolic material of skate culture. Originating from skaters' habit of reinforcing their shoes with tape, the idea is applied to every touchpoint within the brand. Packaging bags are sealed with tape, and coffee cup sleeves are also wrapped with tape. The tape used here is not a simple gray, but a neon green, creating a striking focal point within the minimalist black-and-white palette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result is a graphic identity that captures the street sensibility and experimental spirit. Rather than forcibly linking skateboarding and coffee, we observed the shared energy between the two cultures and visually translated it. This simple yet vibrant system perfectly captures the brand's spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
